Rose-necked Parakeet, Green Parakeet, Lon-tailed Parakeet
Sightings
Very common. They congregate in groups mornings and evenings and make a ruckus. Very social.
Remarks
They made a home in my tiled roof. This image is of a mating pair, parakeet’s display of courtship is something to watch. Folks in the layout have reported sighting on few occasions flock of parakeets hovering around a snake and making such ruckus that the snake gave up and slithered away. This protective behaviour is also seen in mynas.
